The numbers are computed, not maintained
Occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, pickup and lead time come from the reservation record itself. There is no spreadsheet to keep current, and therefore no month where somebody forgot.
One formula sheet drives the dashboard, the reports and the CSV export, so the three can never disagree with each other.
The room is held before the form is saved
The moment your agent picks a room, the inventory is locked. On the phone with a guest reading out a card number, that is the difference between a sale and an apology.
Holds subtract from the same availability every channel reads, and they expire on their own if the call goes nowhere.
A modification validates before it releases
Move a stay to new dates and the new dates are checked first. The old inventory is only given up once the new one is certain — you are never left exposed between the two.
The failure mode this avoids is the classic one: a change that frees a room, fails, and leaves the guest with nothing.
It tells you what commission actually cost, and admits what it cannot know
Commission you paid is a fact, shown per channel. Commission you avoided is a counterfactual — shown as an estimate, and left blank when there is nothing to derive a rate from rather than filled with a flattering guess.
The Cost of distribution screen returns no number instead of an invented one. It is the same function that prices the direct-booking argument.
